2.7L V6 from a Dodge Intrepid 2000 model. I have researched and am aware of this very flawed engine. Yet, still, I am rebuilding this engine. This car was given to me and is in very nice shape, besides the engine needing repair, due to rod spin. I have already removed the engine, tore all apart, block is in machine shop, gonna get a crank kit, 6 rods and piston set, all gaskets and seals, so most likely a master kit. After I get all that done and back, I will be putting the engine back together at my leisure, and take the 2 heads to machine shop for valve job and check. What modifications any has to make this a good engine is appreciated. I do see the oil drains in the 2 heads are very minimal and poor, along with the exhaust ports, catalaytic convertor, all this overcooking the oil. Any particualur type of oil should be used in this engine, or my newly rebuilt engine? Best plugs, and all other best parts?

Does anyone know the steps to rebuilding a bottom end/block? 92 Mazda B2200?

So…My bottom end Is going to hell in my 92 Mazda B2200. This Is not the first Mazda that I’ve had do this to me and I’m sure It won’t be the last.
My trustworthy (expensive) mechanic friend says that It Is “Piston Slap” and that I only have a certain amount of time until my block cracks.

What I would like to know from my viewer’s on here….Is how to rebuild the bottom end.
I know how to the pull the motor and take It apart(with help).

What DO I need to get machined?
What parts (besides gaskets) Do I need to purchase?
Should I do anything aftermarket like a better crank, crankshaft, and so on?
Does the crank and/or crankshaft need to be machine while that Is out?
I have an idea of what I will be doing….Just need a little help getting It all sorted out.
Thanks everyone soooo much for taking the time out to read this.
