2.7L V6 from a Dodge Intrepid 2000 model. I have researched and am aware of this very flawed engine. Yet, still, I am rebuilding this engine. This car was given to me and is in very nice shape, besides the engine needing repair, due to rod spin. I have already removed the engine, tore all apart, block is in machine shop, gonna get a crank kit, 6 rods and piston set, all gaskets and seals, so most likely a master kit. After I get all that done and back, I will be putting the engine back together at my leisure, and take the 2 heads to machine shop for valve job and check. What modifications any has to make this a good engine is appreciated. I do see the oil drains in the 2 heads are very minimal and poor, along with the exhaust ports, catalaytic convertor, all this overcooking the oil. Any particualur type of oil should be used in this engine, or my newly rebuilt engine? Best plugs, and all other best parts?

Bridgeport spindle repair
the last one of those i built i shaved the heads down and ported and polished the block drain ports so the oil would return a lot quicker to the oil pan,and also do the upper part of the block the same way,its very time consuming to do one this way so i hope your got the time to do it in, but it does help them to oil better and last a lot longer, the 2.7 wasn’t totally junk but did have plenty of flaws in it,enlarge all drain ports so the oil wont ever have a chance to clog anything up,the last one i did like this is still holding up and that’s been well over 3 years ago,the best plugs is champions ,they will last and run the best in those cars, good luck.
